Sarah Forsstrom

I am a Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and Biology double major on the pre-medical track in the Emory College of Arts and Sciences. I am passionate about the human gut microbiome and its impact on health and neurological disorders; thus, I am focusing on the interaction of bacteriophages and bile acids with the gut microbiota at the Levin Lab. I also have an interest in antibiotic resistance and alternative methods for treating bacterial infection, so I am studying the population dynamics of Klebsiella pneumoniae and its bacteriophages. As a part of these studies, I am currently investigating how bacteriophages contribute to treatment efficacy in fecal microbiota transplantations.
