Peyton Panos

I am currently a Junior at Emory College of Arts and Sciences, pursuing a major in Biology and a minor in Quantitative Statistical Sciences. I have been working as an undergraduate researcher in the Levin lab since the summer of 2023. In this role, I study the population ecology of bacteria and phage in understudied environments. One of my projects is a study of the effects of bacteriophage-conveyed virulence factors, such as toxin production, on the success of different strains of Escherichia coli both in Galleria mellonella infection models and in vitro. The second project is a collaborative investigation of the infection dynamics of lytic phage and bacterial colonies in structured environments.
