Alysha Ismail

I am a Georgia native and am currently a fourth-year student at Emory University. I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology, with a particular interest in understanding more about how diseases are transmitted and how they can be prevented.

I am doing research in the field of microbiology in the Bruce Levin Laboratory at Emory University. I have been collaborating on a project with fellow researchers Brandon Berryhill, Joshua Manuel, Teresa Gil Gil, and Andrew Paul Smith, which examines the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and its role in the pharmacodynamics between antibiotics and bacteria. This project has given me a deep understanding of the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and has sparked my interest in pursuing a career in medicine to help address this global health challenge.
