Eduardo Rodríguez-Román, Postdoc

I am an evolutionary biologist interested in the study of viruses.  I received my Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Virology in 20?? from the Center for Microbiology and Cell Biology, Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC), Caracas, Venezuela.  My current focus is to understand the ecological and evolutionary relationships of viruses and their hosts using experimental and theoretical approaches with bacteria and phages as model organisms. Previously, I worked with plant and animal/human viruses.- I am interested in doing science without borders, forgetting prejudices or political, cultural, and religious conflicts, country origin, etc., but always maintaining ethical and moral values. I promote and believe in respect and good scientific practices inside and outside the laboratory, and I support the development of new ideas and interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaborations. Big Science!  I also enjoy writing poetry.
