After graduating from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, I spent two years as a research technician at Raybiotech, where I gained experience in the development and quality testing of direct ELISAs, binding assays, and qPCR. I am now diving into the field of bacteria and bacteriophages as a research specialist at the Levin Lab. My project explores the implications and limitations of bacteriophage therapy in treating urinary tract infections (UTIs), which have become increasingly difficult to manage due to the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The goal of this research is to understand the pharmacodynamics of using bacteriophages concurrently or consecutively with antibiotics. This project aligns with my passion for pathology and clinical research as I continue to pursue my aspirations for a career in medicine.
